About this product
The Akai Professional Force is a standalone music production system with 8 channels, 64 pads, a 7-inch touchscreen, and built-in effects. It supports USB, MIDI, CV/Gate, and audio I/O. Priced at $726.80, this digital tabletop unit serves as a sampler, sequencer, and synth for DJs and producers seeking a computer-free workflow.
Our take
This used Akai Force is a feature-packed standalone unit. The 7-inch touchscreen responds well, and the 8 channels give plenty of room for tracks. I appreciate the CV/Gate outputs for modular integration. Built-in effects and arpeggiator add immediate polish. The price for a used unit is reasonable, but there's no warranty, so test thoroughly. The pad layout is great for finger drumming, and the step sequencer is intuitive. If you want a self-contained production hub, this is it.
